The 6th Wenzhou International Design Biennale will take the deep integration of artificial intelligence technology and the entire design chain as its core breakthrough point, focusing on cross-disciplinary innovation between design and culture, technology, fashion, industry, and economy, and exploring a new path for design to support high-quality industrial development empowered by AI. In the digital era, artificial intelligence is becoming the core driving force of the "New Wenzhou Model", injecting new vitality into the upgrading and iteration of Wenzhou's design industry. This biennale will continue to uphold the concept of innovative design, making artificial intelligence a new carrier for Wenzhou's cultural interconnection and inclusiveness, and promoting the promotion and transformation of innovative achievements.

III. Participants
We are inviting submissions from all enterprises, universities, institutions, and individuals worldwide. Each category of the competition is divided into professional and student groups.
Professional group: designers, design enthusiasts, and practitioners from both domestic and overseas.
Student group: full-time students enrolled in art colleges and universities both domestically and internationally (including undergraduates, master's and doctoral students, as well as students in vocational and technical colleges).
IV. Event Categories
This biennial exhibition features six major categories: product design, environmental art, and poster design.
(I) Scope of product design solicitation
1. Emergency security track
(1) We are seeking hardware products, software products, and integrated hardware and software products that leverage technologies such as the Internet, Internet of Things, artificial intelligence, and virtual reality to achieve smart living, providing convenient and secure services for daily life and production.
(2) We are seeking entries that are closely related to production and daily life, including personal safety protection products, household protective products, firefighting equipment used in daily life and production, intelligent monitoring systems, safety production protection equipment, and other safety-related products.
Products used in both daily life and production, including but not limited to, can be submitted for entry.
2. Fashion culture track
(1) We are collecting personal fashion items that decorate and beautify the human body, including fashion design, shoe and hat design, leather goods, clothing accessories, glasses, jewelry, and other light industrial products.
(2) We are seeking non-material cultural heritage products and derivatives, cultural and creative products and derivatives, cultural and creative industrial products, logos, packaging, etc., that can be produced and applied in daily life.
Products that showcase culture and beauty in daily life and production, including but not limited to, can be submitted.
(II) Scope of solicitation for environmental art events
The integration of traditional culture and modern technology revolves around green cities, smart cities, and cultural cities, encompassing but not limited to artistic designs such as regional landscape environments and indoor and outdoor architectural decorations, including commercial spaces, livable spaces, community renovations, ecological communities, cultural towns, and other humanistic innovations.
2. Highlight publicness and openness, enhance the interactive relationship between citizens and buildings, create a vibrant social atmosphere, and drive the area to become a distinctive cultural neighborhood and community design with strong popularity and cultural innovation vitality.
3. Focusing on revitalizing rural areas, we aim to showcase folk culture and art. We are seeking submissions that embody local cultural characteristics, including but not limited to rural residences, guesthouses, cultural hall buildings, and interior and exterior designs.
(III) Scope of poster design solicitation
Centered around "Intelligent Garden Expo"
1. Traditional posters and dynamic poster works that embody culture and new technologies, new special effects, and new effects, showcasing the fusion of traditional culture and modern technological aesthetics.
2. We are seeking traditional and dynamic poster works that focus on themes such as cities and culture, green ecology, and sustainable human development.
V. Participation Guidelines
(1) Registration method
The competition adopts a parallel selection mechanism, combining public registration and nomination by the expert panel of the organizing committee. Works submitted by the public must undergo the preliminary evaluation phase, while works nominated by experts can directly proceed to the final evaluation phase after being reviewed by the organizing committee. The nominating experts and the reviewing experts operate independently of each other. The same work cannot be submitted for multiple categories simultaneously.
(II) Registration time and fee
The registration for this competition is based on the time when the works are sent, with a deadline from now until 24:00 on July 10, 2026 (Beijing time). No applications will be accepted outside this period. The organizing committee does not charge any registration fees, but participants are responsible for any logistics, insurance, customs clearance, and other expenses incurred by participating in the competition.
(III) Submission of Competition Entries and Instructions on Related Matters
The format of entries is not limited, and products, software, and comprehensive services can all be registered. The organizing committee of the award has the right to adjust the entry group and category based on the actual work.
1. For product-related entries, the professional category is open to entries that have been on the market for less than 2 years, as well as entries that have not been launched but can provide a fully functional prototype by the final evaluation of this year (environmental art entries do not need to provide samples). The student category is open to entries that have not been launched but can provide a design model by the final evaluation of this year.
Works created after June 2024 in the categories of posters and environmental art are eligible for participation.
2. Submitted works must be original creations of the author. Any plagiarism will result in disqualification from submission, and the author shall bear any legal consequences arising therefrom. Apart from the registration form, the submitted works must not contain any participant's name, affiliation, or any other irrelevant marks; otherwise, the participant's eligibility for the competition will be revoked.
3. The requirements and specifications for participation are detailed in Annex 1. For details on the announcement of the preliminary round results and the mailing of final evaluation works, please refer to the official website of the Wenzhou International Design Biennial for notices.
4. The preliminary round of the competition requires online submission. Please register and complete the submission of your entry on the submission page of the official website of the Wenzhou International Design Biennale (http://wzdb.zjcst.edu.cn /).
Note: Due to technical limitations on overseas designers' login and registration, entries can be submitted to the official email wzdb_zjist@126.com (only for overseas participating designers and students)
When submitting via email, a copy of the registration form must also be submitted. The registration form can be found in Attachment 4.
(4) Collection
The organizing committee will only collect award-winning works that meet the requirements and grant a "Collection Certificate of Wenzhou International Design Biennale".
(V) Copyright ownership
The intellectual property rights of all entries belong to the entrants. The organizing unit has the right to use the materials submitted by the entrants for related promotional activities, including but not limited to filming, exhibitions, news reporting, compilation, and publication. If there are special confidentiality requirements, the entrant must submit a written application within 5 working days after registration is completed. Otherwise, the work will be deemed public, and the organizing committee will not be responsible for any losses resulting from public display.
(VI) The prize money (before tax) for this solicitation activity will be paid in RMB within China. If overseas design institutions or individuals are unable to receive RMB, they may authorize a legitimate independent legal entity within China to collect the payment on their behalf.
(VII) Based on the actual situation, the organizer has the right to adjust the time for award selection, presentation, and exhibition.
(VIII) No fees will be charged for this competition, and participants can sign up voluntarily.
VI. Selection Process
The review process comprises three stages: preliminary review, re-evaluation, and final evaluation. The list of candidates will be announced on the official website.
1. Work submission: From now until July 10, 2026
2. Public announcement of selected works: September 2026
3. The expected delivery date for the selected product entries is October 20, 2026
4. Final evaluation of works: after October 30, 2026
5. Work Exhibition: The work will be exhibited during the 2026 Wenzhou International Design Biennial.
